Northern Pike and walleye fishing on Gouin Reservoir
- Gouin Reservoir is protected by a wildlife conservation program. Limits are set for 8 walleye and 10 northern pikes per regular licence. You will encounter our private game wardens on the lake. Their job is to make sure that fishing rules are observed and inform people about the positive aspects of catch & release fishing;
- You will need a northern pike and walleye fishing permit for Gouin on top of the Quebec fishing licence. Available through us, like the Quebec fishing licence, permits are $6.00 CDN per day, $25.00 CDN for a 5-day stay, $35.00 CDN for a 7-day stay, $10.00 CDN per family per day, $40.00 CDN per family for 5 days and $50.00 CDN per family per week. Catch & Release permits are only $4.00 CDN per day.
- Remember to ask for a "catch & release" licence for free if you intend not to bring lots of fish back home. You can get regular and catch & release licences in the same boat.

- More than ever we view walleye and northern pike fishing as a sport of catch & release.
- Here are our fishing rules: Walleyes are limited to 4 (between 14 to 20 inches or 30 to 50 cm at the V in the tail). Northern pikes are limited to 4 (between 20 to 28 inches or 50 to 70 cm), all trophies going back to the lake.
BOAT LICENSE
Since September 15th, 2009, All boat operators in Canada (doesn’t apply to U.S. residents) must have the Card or they risk expensive fines. We strongly suggest that you follow the online boating course available at
before you arrive to our place.
Weight limit is 110 pounds of luggage/pers from Clova and 100 pounds/pers from La Tuque or Baskatong. Extra plane trips will
require extra charges.
